Puppies typically need to relieve themselves every few hours, depending on their age (a 2-month-old puppy every 2 hours, a 3-month-old every 3 hours, and so on). If your pet goes elsewhere, immediately bring them back to the designated spot. Keep in mind that your pet will need to eliminate shortly after meals and more frequently during the summer when their water intake is higher.

When your dog begins to use the pad, be sure to use the cue "go potty" to associate the phrase with the action of elimination.
